James D. Lockwood, P.E.
President/CEO
Jim Lockwood has 25 years of industry experience as a design/builder, manufacturer and executive. From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Lockwood was a principal of J. Muller International (JMI) where he established and led the company’s Chicago and New York City offices. From 1996 he was CEO and managing director of Egis Inc., New York City, the US subsidiary of Groupe Egis in Paris, FR and an affiliate company of JMI.
Mr. Lockwood established Comptek in 1998, a manufacturer of advanced composite fiber reinforced polymer materials and products in Boulder, Colorado. In 2001, he started AeroSolutions as a design/build division of Comptek’s structural reinforcing products, providing services to major tower owners and telecommunication carriers that seek to optimize the load-carrying capacity of their tower structures.
Mr. Lockwood holds a BSCE from the University of Cincinnati, an MSCE from the University of Washington, was a researcher at The Technical University of Denmark and The Technical University of Stuttgart, Germany in the field of lightweight structures. He has authored more than 20 papers for ASCE, ACI, TRB, PCI, AISC and SAMPE on the subjects of structural engineering, advanced composite materials and technology transfer.
Larry Cercone, PhD
Vice-President of Technology
Larry is an industry recognized leader in Composite Manufacturing Technology.
Prior to joining Comptek, he helped institute and taught in the graduate level program in Composite Manufacturing Technology at the University of Wyoming, Mechanical Engineering Department where he was a Lecturer and Principal Researcher.
For 12 years he was President and Owner of Lawrence Engineering & Larry Cercone & Assoc., Inc., where he led research and development projects around the world. He is the recipient of seven patents and has published articles in numerous industry publications.
In 1997 he was nominated for and selected as one of five finalists for Discover Magazine Innovator of the year.
Larry holds a PhD in Material Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Bryan Lonergan
Director of Sales and Business Development
Bryan has over 20 years experience in the design and execution of sales delivery and support systems for a broad range of innovative technology products.
Prior to joining Comptek, he designed the system deployment schema for Automsoft, a company specializing in automation software for the pharmaceutical industry. Bryan was co-founder of WireTrak, a wireless field service application provider that bundled service software and hardware in a recurring revenue based business model. He has held senior sales and marketing positions with ABT Software, and Dictaphone Corporation.
Bryan started his career as an aerospace engineer working with Hamilton Standard and Ball Aerospace. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
